About MassInstrumentation
MassInstrumentation is an emerging initiative to support ongoing business development and economic growth of the analytical instrumentation industry within Massachusetts. Through dialog among leaders in industry, government and institutions of higher learning, the initiative seeks to create greater understanding of the competitive environment and emerging technologies that can contribute to the success of companies producing test and measurement equipment, analytical instruments, and process monitoring control systems. With this understanding, MassInstrumentation promotes public policies, collaborative efforts and other supportive actions, which will assist in increasing the competitiveness and sustained business growth of this industry within Massachusetts.
Quality by Design Conference
Quality by Design was a forum held in Billerica, Mass., on April 11, 2007, structured to bring together biopharmaceutical and analytical instrumentation companies within Massachusetts for the purpose of exploring how best to leverage measurement and process control capabilities found among regional companies. In particular, the goal was to address the challenges, and capitalize on the opportunities, resulting from the FDA initiative: “Process Analytical Technology” (PAT).
Participants from both the analytical instruments and pharmaceutical industries attended and presented at the conference, which was part of the MassInstrumentation initiative. It was hosted by the Merrimack Valley Economic Development Council (MVEDC) with additional support from the John Adams Innovation Institute and the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
